Wow I found this really cool website that shows shepherds in history its really cool!

Look what it says:

Quote :
Here are some historic pictures of our beloved German Shepherd Dogs.
Some of these dogs are famous, but most are not.
One thing is for certain, GSD’s have played an important part of our history.

Website:

http://www.gsdcsaz.org/Old%20Pictures.htm

and here is the GSD's history:

Great pictures!
The picture of GSDs in WW I reminded me of a picture I saw on E-Bay.

The photo was titled "Pal the para dog" It said that during the WWII military dogs parachuted out from planes with their partners.

I had to save the picture because my hubby is retired Army with lots of airbourne assignments (and he loves GSDs).

Some of you younger folks might not know who Gregory Peck is - but he was a Hollywood Heartthrob many many years ago!

I found this cool picture on E-Bay...

This is what it said:

A Handsome Hollywood Icon - Gregory PECK & German Shepherd - 'Slip' with her Puppies ~~~

Gregory Peck (1916-2003) was making the film THE GUNFIGHTER when his white German Shepherd, 'Slip', gave birth to thirteen puppies at his home in Pacific Palisades. With too many puppies and not enough milk, Peck was photographed here in his role as co-mother to the litter, bottle-feeding pups. He kept one from 'Slip's' litter, 'Perry', who grew up to be a magnificent dog.

Taken in 1949 and in excellent condition. Approximately 4.5" x 6.25", this picture is taken directly from a dog book, it is an original bookplate, (has not been reproduced) and as we have classically matted it using a custom bevel-cut matte it will fit nicely into any standard 8" x 10" picture frame.
