Two of our pack, our Lab puppy Raven, and our 2 year old GSD Max, are over-eager eaters, and often would gag and upchuck, they ate so fast. These cheap little plastic bowls have been a godsend. They slow the eating down and improve their digestion. They can be ordered online or bought at pet shops. The rest of the pack eat normally, thank goodness. Two even eat slowly and with great relish, hugging their bowls with their paws and slowly nibbling. It is amazing how different they all can be.

You know, you can buy something like that, and it does help. But, even if you just put a big clean rock in the middle of the bowl, they have to eat around it, and that slows them down. Much cheaper than buying something. Just FYI

Saw the 'rock' idea for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Had a meeting over at someone's house. They live in the mountains where big "critters" can sometimes come visiting unexpected, so they have a big, male Akita (Can you say, DOMINANT?!) who apparently has the same issue with gulping down his food and then regurgitating it. The addition of a nice, smooth river rock into the middle of this big guy's food bowl has made all the difference. (Not sure what they use to slow down his eating of people my size who don't fit into the bowl. Shocked )
